Man-made terrors

Amid rubble and dust, heroes appeared as neighbour reached out to neighbour.
Much of Florida condominium building collapsed, killing scores and sending survivors fleeing for their lives.

It was a night of terror.
At the time of collapse, the Champlain Towers condominium Board had put out a Call for bids to address structural issues revealed in an Engineer’s report. Alas, it was too late.

Down on the ground floor, in apartment Unit 111, a two bedrooms apartment, a fresh graduate lives. He and sister heard a big thunderous noise. But they had no clue what has happened. The sister ran to the lobby for asking what happened.

Bottom of Swimming pool deck was broken and fell on garage below.

She was worried of electrocution.
Warning signs appeared in Newspapers.

He found that back in 2018, an engineer gave a warning of major structural damage was done.

Yet they moved on, wading through water, debris and obstacles of broken vehicles.

Days after, they found shelter in nearby donated hotel rooms.
When they met neighbors, they were homeless, and don’t know where to go.
