Yet, who’s not after a good name of a child, company, residential or corporate building, and so on ….

A successful company in Singapore wanted to name their corporate  building per their brand CREATIVE. This was not accepted by the authorities (one must have Plaza, etc. behind it). The Chairman of the company had a long struggle to get it accepted as CREATIVE.

Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company was changed to 3M when they wanted to introduce innovative new products. This is to announce new focus of the company.

Coca-Cola changed its logo and name in fighting for market share, associated with sugar contents, sounding like American, or ease of pronouncing. Started with Coca-Cola, Cola, Coke, Coke Lite, Coke zero, etc.

Announcing extended working hours, U-Totem changed (1946) its name to “7 eleven” (working from 7 am to 11 pm.

Founder Adolf Dossler placed his name, creating a brand “Adidas”.

Famous AUDI car got its name translated in Latin. The founder August Horch [meaning Hark (Listen) in Latin]. Four Rings in the Logo represent Audo Union of AUDI with DKW, HORCH, and WANDERER.

CANON was named after the first camera produced by the company “KWANON” (Budhdhist Bodhisatva of Mercy in Japanese). Later (1935) changed to Canon for better acceptance worldwide.

Have you ever thought the cup in your hands, STARBUCK was named after the Starbuck, a character in Moby Dick (by Herman Melville).
